Mortgage Training for Notary Signing Agents

Notary signing agents are in great demand throughout the United States.

What is a Notary Signing Agent?  A notary signing agent is an individual who serves as a notary for a mortgage closing.  The notary signing agent verifies the identity of the person signing the documents through Drivers License, Passport, Social Security and other documents.  Banks, mortgage companies, and title companies utilize the notary signing agent to help them with real estate and mortgage closings.

Steps for a mortgage closing:

1. Notary Signing Agent receives two sets of mortgage documents via Fedex from the mortgage lender.

2. Notary Signing Agent travels to the clients home or office where the documents will be signed and notarized.

3. Borrowers sign one copy of the mortgage documents and keep the other for their records.

4. Notary Signing Agent returns the signed mortgage documents to the mortgage lender via Fedex.

5. One week later the Notary Signing Agent gets a check in the mail for his or her services.

Most notary signing agents are independent contractors and get paid per assignment.  They can make anywhere between $75 and $275 per assignment. Most notary signing agents have an average of 6 assignments per month.
